OSD radar

OSD radar

The Oil Spill Detection (OSD) radar leverages cutting-edge technology to detect oil on the sea surface across varying sea states—including calm conditions sea state 0.

The advanced FMCW polarimetric Ku-band radar features electronically scanning antennas that cover 100 degrees in under 0.2 seconds.

Operational since October 2017, the lightweight radar is installed on the Edvard Grieg platform, one of the newest oil-producing platforms in the North Sea. It has been successfully tested for oil spill detection from ships, demonstrating its reliability and performance in real-world conditions.

User interface

The ISPAS radar system features a responsive and user-friendly interface tailored for OSD and Vessel Traffic Surveillance (VTS).

Its design supports efficient maritime monitoring, making it a reliable solution for tracking vessel movements and enhancing situational awareness in busy sea areas.
